Therapy is a collaborative dialogue process between the client and therapist that aims to improve the client's overall mental and emotional well-being. The process of therapy typically involves meeting 1:1, either in-person or online to discuss your concerns and goals; we'll develop a treatment plan and engage in specific techniques to support your goals; then monitor you progress and make adjustments as we go. There is no time limit on therapy, as each client progresses at their own pace.
The potential benefits of attending therapy are vast, including reduced stress and anxiety; improved mood and self-esteem; enhanced coping skills; strengthened relationships; and overall improved mental and emotional wellness. Therapy is not considered emergency services, as it requires the client's active participation in their own healing journey. Each client progresses at his/her own pace, and that can range from weeks to months to years. Therapy does require open communication and trust between me and my clients, and is often also a valuable tool for personal growth and self-improvement, beyond healing and overcoming distress.
I offer individual, couple (pre-marital) and family sessions, both in-person and virtually. I also welcome all types of clients including children (8yrs+), teens, LGBTQIA+ and people of all faiths and backgrounds.

It is my honor to provide you a safe, non-judgmental space to unpack what’s going on for you mentally and emotionally. I take a holistic and integrative approach with you, because no two clients are the same. I believe all things are possible; your emotions are highly relevant; and that you receive most benefit when we work from the inside-out, at your pace.
I am also not one to over-emphasize pathology or place a label on who you are as a person because of the symptoms you experience. Diagnoses are primarily for insurance purposes and to support your financial reimbursement; they can also occasionally be helpful to provide insight into understanding the unique collection of symptoms you may experience and how to provide you most optimal treatment. Aside from that, however, you are a multi-faceted person that is more than any diagnosis you may ever receive.
I am a trauma-informed therapist, trained in the CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) trauma therapy model.

Do you have a tendency to get caught up in your head?

These may be signs of trauma, anxiety, high-sensitivity, conditioning or something else. In therapy, we'll definitely explore your emotions because emotions are filled with information. They tell us if something is misaligned within you. If a past experience you had may have gotten physiologically trapped within you. ... and if talking about emotions is something that's challenging for you, I promise you're not the first person who's ever felt that. Guess what? Even the history of therapy as a profession at one time didn't even recognize the value of emotions itself -- until they did.
Regardless, disentangling your thoughts and emotions; getting clear on who you are; and increasing your capacity to choose what you think and feel plays a big part in your experience to feel fulfilled from the inside-out. The more in tune and present you become with your emotions, the more empowered and confident you can become, as well.

The experience of loneliness is often just part of the journey leading you to that place of deeper, inner fulfillment. It’s like walking a long, dark tunnel, only to eventually find out you just had blinders on because your job up to this point was to focus on You. Once you get “there,” it’s as if the lights come back on and you can see the others around you too. The best part – You discover that the light at the end of the tunnel, was always the light that came from within you. The brighter you shine, the brighter your world around you shines.
